FAQ

Welcome to our FAQ page! Here, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our racket services.

Stringing

When will I get my racket back?

The standard turnaround is 48 hours after drop-off. We also offer same-day and 40 minutes express services at extra labour cost.

Which string and tension should I choose?

If you’re not sure, we're happy to recommend something that suits your game. As a general guide:

  • higher tension gives more control, while lower tension offers more power

  • shaped strings provide more spin, while round strings are better for flat shots.

  • stiffer string provides more control and spin, while softer string has more power and comfort.

  • thinner string provides more feel, bite, and can reduce racket swing weight, while thicker string is more durable and increases swing weight.

There are many more variables, especially with hybrid setups. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask us :)

Are you experienced stringers?

Yes. We are UKRSA-certified tennis stringers with years of hands-on experience, having strung hundreds of rackets for players of all levels. Many of our customers return regularly and consistently leave excellent feedback.

Do you string all rackets?

Yes and no. Before stringing, we always check for cracks or damage. If the frame is cracked, the racket will be returned to you as I won’t be able to string it due to the possibility of the racket breaking further when pulling tension.

Customisation (Hammersmith Only)

What customisation services do you provide?

At Hammersmith, we provide other racket services, these includes racket specs measurement (swing weight & balance point), grommet change, grip replacement, grip size alteration, and racket matching.

Payments

What payment method do you accept?

We accept bank transfer, paypal, or cash.

When do I pay?

Payments are accepted after your racket is strung and before or at collection.
